As homeschool parents, we exert a
great deal of effort toward ensuring that we have chosen
the right curriculum for our children and provided a
good learning environment for them. But there is
more to consider....
Do you know of any machine that
will function properly when operated with the wrong
fuel? Have you considered your child's body to be
a machine? While it is far more complex than the
machines we typically use, it is highly dependent on
having the right fuel - nutrition - for optimal
function. What is the source of that fuel?
Our food, of course.
Therein lies the problem. Our
food no longer provides the nutrients that are essential
for proper function - physically, mentally, and
emotionally - of our bodies. Soils in the United
States are severely depleted of nutrients, and fresh
produce is picked green to facilitate long-distance
transportation for retail sales, thereby depriving those
fruits and vegetables of essential nutrients that are
obtained from the roots during the ripening process.
Packaged foods are designed for flavor, visual appeal or
ease or preparation without concern for nutritional
value.
Even the Journal of the American
Medical Association and the United States Department of
Agriculture have admitted that today's commercially
produced foods no longer provide enough nutrients to
keep us healthy. In fact, in order to get the
nutrients that were derived from a single peach 20 years
ago, you would have to eat 28 peaches today.
According to the JAMA and USDA, supplementation of
essential nutrients is necessary. When we hear of
"nutritional supplements" we normally think of vitamins
and minerals, but this is only one of four important
categories needed by the body. In addition to
quality, plant-digested vitamins and minerals, our
bodies require glyconutrients, antioxidants, and plant
sterols to maintain the health of our cells, the basic
building block of our bodies.
Do those tasty Flintstones vitamins
meet the need? Hardly. They contain
primarily synthetic vitamins and minerals which your
child's body neither recognizes nor absorbs. Yet,
there is a simple solution. A biotech
company in Dallas has developed patented nutritional
supplements in a chewable
form for children (powder and capsule form for adults)
which have provided extremely positive results for
children around the world.
A clinical study was completed in
an inner-city school that demonstrated that just adding
a chewable glyconutrient supplement to the children's
diet improved the children's attitude and scholastic
performance. Parents and teachers were amazed, but
the children benefited the most! Want to find out more?
